It has its own car park although it is no longer free it is safer than in the street. I like the traditional style of the building. On this visit I had a bigger room and the bathroom door did not stick. I think it had recently been refurbished and was excellent.

Just outside of Penrith, the Brantwood Hotel is less than 3 miles from Ullswater. Just one mile from the junction 40 of M6 it offers en suite bedrooms and TVs.

Handy stopover on our way up to Inverness. Easy to find. Went and had a look at the lake nearbyWe had dinner which was ok. Breakfast was good. Room was good. Quite small but ok.

The place was beautiful, the staff were absolutely wonderful very friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely, with a nice view from the bedroom. The shower was also incredible, we wanted to take it with us 😂 Thank you for having us, the pub is also lovely, very nice food and very pretty/relaxing ambience inside. We expected to go to Penrith for the evening but couldn't get a taxi, they squeezed us in to eat too. Thanks again for that too 😁 Very good value for money.

The village and the room were lovely and peaceful.. the breakfast was superb… much choice and cooked just so… I initially asked for no fried bread due to a past horror at a different hotel but she brought me a sample.. crispy and dry.. what service… altogether a excellent stay
